Our Story

Our Story

At Theertha Clothing, every saree carries a story woven thousands of years in the making.

Rooted in Kanjivaram Heritage

We are from Sathyamangalam, a beautiful town of Tamil Nadu, lies on the foothills of Nilagris. has been home to master weavers for over four centuries. Nestled in the town of Sathyamangalam in Tamil Nadu, these weavers have passed down their craft through generations, thread by thread, loom by loom. At Theertha Clothing, we are humbled to carry this living tradition into the hands of women across the world.

The Art of Semi-Silk Kanjivaram

Our Semi-Silk Kanjivaram sarees are crafted using a meticulous weaving process that honours the classic Kanjivaram structure — the interlocking warp and weft technique that makes each saree exceptionally durable, lustrous, and distinctly beautiful.

The Zari That Speaks

No Kanjivaram is complete without its zari. The intricate gold and silver metallic thread work that adorns our sarees is not mere embellishment — it is artistry. Each zari motif, whether a peacock, lotus, temple border, or paisley, is a deliberate choice by the weaver, echoing motifs that have graced South Indian textiles for generations.

Thoughtfully Sourced, Honestly Made

We work directly with weaving families and trusted artisans in Sathyamangalam to bring you sarees that are authentic in origin and honest in quality. By keeping our supply chain close to the source, we ensure that the weavers are fairly recognised for their extraordinary skill — and that you receive a piece that is truly worth cherishing.

For the Woman Who Values Meaning

A Theertha saree is not just something you wear — it is something you carry with you. Whether it graces a wedding mandap, a festival morning, or a celebratory evening, it brings with it the weight of heritage and the lightness of silk. We believe every woman deserves to feel that connection.
